Keloid Scar Removal

Keloids are a type of raised scar. They occur where the skin has healed after an injury. They can grow to be much larger than the original injury that caused the scar. Anything that can cause a scar can cause a keloid. Keloids are an abnormal type of scar that form as a result of trauma or injury. The appearance can vary from mild cosmetic nuisance to gross deformity and can be itchy and painful.

To treat the keloids we recommend the use of fractional CO2 lasers, they reduce and minimise hypertrophic scars and keloids. Through the development of heat-shock proteins, one can use the fractional capabilities of the CO2 laser to interact with the scarred collagen and help to develop new collagen in its place. Raised scars can be flattened over time and scars can be virtually eliminated. Book a free consultation.
