NAD IV Treatment, a Closer Look: Benefits, Science, & Who it Helps

What is NAD and how does it work?

NAD slows the aging process, improves mental clarity, restores neurologic function, and improves the body’s overall health. NAD, short for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a coenzyme found in every cell within the body and is involved in many processes.

One of its most significant roles within the body is in oxidation-reduction (redox) reactions. These reactions are a part of the metabolic system and converts food into the energy the body needs to function properly.

Among other functions, NAD plays a significant role in anti-aging. NAD works on mitochondria and increases the length of telomeres, which are the protective caps located at the ends of chromosomes that become shorter as the body ages. NAD increases the activity of SIRT1 and PARP 1 proteins, which are linked with a slower rate of aging and influencing DNA repair respectively.

The body naturally produces NAD, but overall levels of the coenzyme decrease over time, leading to cellular changes that result in age-related pathologies.

Lower levels of NAD and bonds between certain types of molecules are linked to damage to DNA which, left unrepaired, accumulate over time into cell changes and mutations[3]. Restoring and supplementing NAD counteracts many of these reactions and help preserve the integrity of DNA over time.

Overview

NAD is a coenzyme that powers metabolic processes and impacts a wide variety of systems including digestion, cognition and mental clarity, aging, and overall energy levels.

NAD increases your body’s levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter associated with mood regulation, and can improve symptoms of depression and anxiety.

NAD is helpful for individuals undergoing therapy for substance abuse and addiction recovery. This treatment reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms, provides energy to the body, and boosts brain regeneration.

NAD IV treatments can:

  • Assist with addiction recovery (alcohol, opioids, nicotine)
  • Improve depression
  • Improve brain health and neurological function
  • Improve mental clarity
  • Improve brain regeneration
  • Boost energy levels
  • Reduce overall fatigue
  • Restore muscle function and athletic performance

NAD also plays a large role in anti-aging treatments. Aging impacts every body system, changing everything from the way the body appears to how it metabolizes food. NAD lengthens telomeres, which are protective caps located at the ends of chromosomes that naturally get shorter as the body ages.

NAD IV treatments can improve a wide variety of symptoms that are associated with aging.

In regards to aging specifically, NAD IV treatments can:

  • Slow the aging process
  • Reverse aging
  • Restore the appearance of the skin and reduce wrinkles
  • Improve brain health and neurological function
  • Improve mental clarity
  • Improve brain regeneration
  • Boost energy levels
  • Reduce overall fatigue
  • Restore muscle function and athletic performance

The levels of NAD that naturally occur in the body decline with age. NAD IV treatments supplement this gradual decline and deliver this powerful coenzyme directly into your bloodstream, making it available to your cells for immediate use. NAD treatments last from 4 to 14 days depending on the individual.
